Lets use scripture verses - Exodus 20:5 as our stating off point here
- but there will be more.
Exodus 20:5 - Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.
This verse very clearly demand that we have nothing in our lives that
we think more highly of than the God of this Bible - the only God there
is really. Idols of physical elements of wood, stone, precious metals or
even figurative elements are forbidden.
In the New Testament we are warned to have no fellowship with unfruitful
works of darkness. Lets read
Ephesians 5:11 - Have no fellowship with the unfruitful
works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
This of course means have nothing to do with the things of the world
- the love of (coming from) the world, or not to love the things of the
world.. In fact we are to stand up against false gods and the false hope
they give.
In 1 John 2:15 we read this: 1 John 2:15 - If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Note this for sure - if any person loves of the world and its ungodly
system then that person does not have God in him and he is unsaved and
on the way to hell. Pretty strong language - but a strong truth we must
realize.
In Revelations another dire warning - Revelations 18:4 - Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
What could be more clear that we as Christians should not involve ourselves in the activities of the ungodly of this world. They have some excuse because they do not have God in them. We do and should know better.
Or Galatians 4:10-11 - Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years, I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
Notice that statement - "lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain? Those who observe days, months, times and years are doing so against God's commendments and are in great danger. Are they really saved? This includes the observance of Christmas.
No one knows the exact date of Jesus' birthday - which in itself should
set warning sirens off in your brain. If God wanted us to celebrate Christ's
birthday we would be let known the date of it! The closest the most learned
men who know scripture - Jewish tradition and practices and history can
only say that Jesus was born sometime in September or early October.
They don't even know the year He was born! But according to Jewish tradition
and history it must have been between 3 and 4 years Before Christ. It seems
when Pope Gregory the great established his calendar he was about 4 years
out in HIS estimate of when Jesus was born.
But worst of all is who's birthday we really are celebrating. I can
understand why people in their human nature want to celebrate Christ's
birthday. It is their nature to do so since we celebrate our own and those
of well known people such as our rulers - Kings & Queens and probably
most presidents of countries. So to want to celebrate Jesus' birthday comes
as no surprise.
So, to man's way of thinking, even if we don't know the exact date most
people would just pick any date and say lets use this date to celebrate
Jesus' birthday.
But, there is more to it than this. The trouble was how this date come
about to be picked.
As usual it was Satan's impostor of a church that picked the date, the
Roman Catholic Church, and it was not by random choice they chose that
date.
As anyone who knows anything about the Roman Catholics know, when they
moved into any area where Roman Catholicism was not observed but some pagan
form of religion was practiced, instead of converting them from their Pagan
rituals to the teachings and practices of Christ's church, what the Roman
Catholic Church officials did was give their pagan rituals a Christian
title and called these people Roman Catholic. Most pagan people were happy
with this. They received the benefits of the Roman Catholic Church but
could continue on in their own practices with just a change of name for
them. Convenient huh?
How did the Roman Catholic Church settle on December 25th?
Long centuries before - in other words hundreds of years before Christ
another religion we refer to as the Ancient Pagan Religion of Babylon held
birthday celebrations to honour their god Tammuz of Bel, or some places
it was called Bacchus who was the son of Semeramis or Cybele of Rdea, the
Chaldean Queen of heaven.
And guess when that celebration was held - big surprise - right on that
exact date that corresponds to our December 25. Big surprise huh?
I have already mentioned that the Roman Catholic Church just changes
the pagan given name and gives it a Christian name to cover over the fact
the practice is really of pagan origin. So this pagan god Tammuz got the
name of Jesus Christ.
All Christmas celebrating is founded on the superstitious pagan idolatry
of pagan ancient Babylon shrewdly woven into the Roman Catholic Rituals.
There is plenty of proof of that.
It is well documented what the ancient festivities of the ungodly, cruel,
immoral pagan Babylonian rituals and festivities were.
Of course the obvious - the mother and her birth of her child. If you
look closely at the Bible record of Jesus' birth you will find most of
the traditions held by the world of this event are distorted or completely
wrong. There is just enough truth left in the worldly traditions to be
able to say it is talking about Christ. I wish I had more time to go into
these errors - but I have in the past so I hope you remember them.
The Christmas tree is another practice dating back LONG before Christ
in ancient Babylon practices. Tree worship whether the fir tree as we use
or otherwise (some places they used the palm tree) was an article of home
decoration long before Christ came along in this pagan ritual of celebrating
their god's birthday.
Other similarities of the celebration of this pagan God Tammuz and our days' Christmaspractices are
1) it lasted 7 days. 2) it was a time of general joy and mirth. 3) big
feasts were prepared along with heavy drinking. 4) schools were closed
as well as public places and private businesses. 5) and of course exchange
of gifts. 6) the holly, the mistletoe, the Yule log and the wassail bowl
are all of pre-Christian times. After all - what in the world would these
practices have to do with the birth of Christ and the salvation He provided?
All this sound familiar? Drinking and getting drunk is very much part
of this celebration - In the name of Jesus birthday mind you!! You kids
might not have witnessed much drunkeness yet because you have been lucky
enough to be born into a family where this does not take place - but stick
around a few years and you will see it.
Then of course there is Santa Clause. This is a despicable practice
of teaching kids of Sata- I mean Santa. Why? Obviously because it is a
total and complete lie. This "man" takes the place of the true God because
they attribute to him many capabilities only God has. Who else but God
can tell who is bad or good, can fly through the air and cover the whole
world in one night?
I really feel for the foolish, so called Christian who identifies with
Sata- I mean Santa, then tries to teach them Christ. Why? Obviously sooner
or later they are going to find out Satan Claus is nothing but a myth,
and since they can't see Jesus Christ, they will put Him in the same category
of being a myth and you the parent will be totally responsible for that
action of destroying that child's faith.
So excuse me if I don't get very enthused over this celebration of this
false god Tammuz of Bel.
I might give out cards to a few people, they are part of the world system
anyway and does not understand what god they really are celebrating.
I might have a feast on that day if offered, but I would eat just as
much on March 25 or September 1 if I was offered a feast then too, or any
other date you can mention.
I might even give a present or two, but not to celebrate anything -
but just because I want too.
Remember the gift giving? If a person is really serious about gift giving,
then why don't they give to the person who the celebration is supposed
to be about - Jesus? By giving to His church would be the same as giving
to Jesus Himself. But you don't see people doing that do you?
In closing lets read these scriptures then you judge yourself if keeping
or celebrating this Xmas season is very Christian - or is it in fact ant-Christian?
Luke 16:15 - Ye are they which justify yourselves before men: but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
Yes you may celebrate Christmas pretending to be celebrating Christ and His birthday - but God knows your heart - the real reason for your celebration - and for the most part it is for your own gratification - a reason to indulge more deeply than most days of the year. There is nothing more highly esteemed than Christmas - so this REALLY must be an abomination to God. Something that is an abomination is something that turns your stomach - nauseates you. That should make it plain what God thinks of your celebrating Christmas as Jesus' birthday!
1 John 5:21 - Little
children, keep yourselves from idols.
1 John 4:1 - Many
false prophets are gone out into the world
2 Corinthians 11:14
- and no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light
Jeremiah 10:3-5
- For the customs of the peoples are vain: for one cutteth a tree out
of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. They
deck it with silver and with gold; They fasten it with nails and with hammers,
that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they
must needs be borne because they cannot go.
Sound familiar? what more needs to be said. It is clear that not many IF any practices that we obwerve as part of the Christ's mass festivities are pleasing to God. Lets stop it!!
I better quit with that - I wish I had more time to tell you just how God dishonoring this festival time of Christ's mass really is. But if you are not at least made curious with what I have said here enough for you own further study I doubt no matter what is said will change your mind.
